Hi, this is my first post. We have a Vanee HRV in a new home(4yrs old). For some reason since the spring of this year, if I set the mian control to 50% humididty the unit never shuts off. It seems that by the way the control clicks(as I sweep past 65%) and can never attain 50%. The Heating guy has been here numerous times trying to fix it, last time he changed the main control and still nothing. It seems very dry in our house, no where near the indicated 65% the main control clicks on at. Any help/advice would be great................:patriot:

It seems to have one big hose goin to the outside and one to the forced air gas furnace. It used work great, I mean when I set it to 50% it would run until it reached 50% and shut off. Now the low as it can go is 65% and never shuts of because it cannot reach 50%

Could also be the control itself wither on the unit or the remote control maybe needs to be fixed, replaced or atleast looked at. Checking the filters and the screens on the outside might be a good idea as well. My guess is there soemthing wrong with the controls.

The humidity setting is for winter

It turns on when you get too humid in the winter

In the spring time and then into summer, the air outside starts to have more moisture than you need inside. So it tries to ventilate to lower the humidity put instead acts like a humidifier in the summer and it will rarely shut off

the outside air should be cooling off and drying out now and it should cycle off. Have someone check the intakes like others have said, make sure no flex duxts have collapsed, make sure both fans operate, make sure both dampers open.

Could also be something like a bad defrost sensor

I have washed the filters and cube out, I will check the outside hood tonight. When I opne the door on the unit it, it shuts off........is this when the 2 dampers should be open?

When the cover to the unit is opened when the unit itself is running the unit should shut down when the saftey switch it tripped by opening the cover, thought it's not likey someone will get hurt by the fans by opening the cover but it's on there for safety and to protect the manufacturer. Once you close the cover the unti should resume operation.
