I am having issues with a MODBUS integration between an FX60 and an MTU generator with a Balser DGC-2020 Controller.
I have my network configured as 8N1, Speed 9600 and the physical installations seams proper. The wire is 18awg Shielded 2 Conductor terminated on both ends with a 120ohm resistor and the run is about 400 feet. It goes directly to the JACE from the generator.
I've tried endless configurations on the JACE but with no prevail.
We don't have any way of testing to see if the Generator is truly outputting any data and I have seen a program before that has allowed me to use a line powered RS232 to 485 converter and you can see raw modbus data on your PC. It was helpful just to prove that the device is talking which right now we can't.
The person that showed it to me has since retired and I can't reach him.
Does anyone know of such a piece of software and has experience using it in that fashion or have any of you successfully integrated these two products?
Thanks!
Mark
