Call your dealer. They usually have their own tech support guy and are supposed to be the first line of defense. They will give out the number (or put you on a 3 way call with them) if their tech support guy can't help you out.

Or ask your question here. We've got this guy named rundawg who's got top-secret literature to every piece of equipment ever made and can answer almost any question you might have.

ICP or International Comfort Products doesn't have a Tech support number. You are suppose to contact your local distributor of the brand (Tempstar, ICP, Heil, Day&Night, etc.)and there you should have a field rep for their product you can talk with. ICP is owned by Carrier and Carrier doesn't even have tech support, too, same process there.

All manufacturers are going this route.

Our distributor tech rep for ICP is a great guy. He doesn't try to blame equipment problems on the installation. If he doesn't have the answer right off the bat, he admits it, researches it, and then calls me back. There have been a number of times he's come to the job to look for himself at a problem.
He's not a site member but I'll give him a shout out anyway . Go Steve!

Customer says sometimes at night the blower will continue to blow but the air will be cold. The heat works fine. I tried to test the defrost by jumping out the defrost sensor terminals and by jumping the test pins. It will go in and out of defrost a few times but will not stay in defrost during the test. I have tried removing the jumped test pin as soon as it goes into defrost. I have left the test pin jumped. I have pulled the jumper off the test pin 5-7 seconds after it being on there like suggested.

When the jumper is in the TEST position and Y is energized, the unit will cycle from heating (10 seconds) to defrost (2 seconds) to heating (10 seconds) to defrost (2 seconds) for a maximum of 8 times. If the jumper is left in the TEST position, the control will ignore the call for TEST and default to a 90 minute defrost cycle.

A jumper across the DFST and T.STAT terminals is not necessary in order to check out the defrost control.

Side Note: Put an email address in your profile (like all Pro's), or send me an email (address is in my profile), and I can get some info off to you.

From this point on, post your questions in the "Tech to Tech Chat - Residential forum. This forum (AOP - Residential) is for home owners to ask questions.

I meant before i can message or do tech to tech chat. I emailed you though .
You should be able to get into the "Tech to Tech Chat - Residential" forum without 15 posts. It is only the "PRO" forums that require 15 posts and an application to join (and it is free).
