It should use the Heatilator SL300 chimney, which is still made and used today. Their term cap looks different than it used to but I think Heatilator allows the new cap installed on the old fireplaces, the dealer would have to double check.
Anyone know where I can find a vent termination for this fireplace. The fireplace is wood burning and was manufactured in 86. I was having my chimney cap replaced and have been told by the technician that the termination piece is no longer made and they will not mfg one because of potential liability associated with voiding the UL listing should there be a fire. I am a complete novice when it comes to fireplaces.

Dog and JTP- I also have HF42A and after increasing roof pitch, am looking for any old SL or AC chimney sections to extend. Any guidance where to look? TIA/EB
