Paul would it make sense for northerner's to take the Orient Ferry instead?
FYI: The Pt. Jeff Ferry is expensive, but saves a crapload of time. Check the schedule and pricing on the site beforehand.

Hmmmm..... That's strange. Hopefully they take checks. I don't have a cheque book either. I should've picked one up in Canada.

Okay, I just talked to Betty.
I didn't get any future with her than Shaun did.You diffinately have to send a check for the deposit. You must take the room for 3 nights. Thursday, Friday and Saturday. No exceptions.
She said that the traffic would be so bad on Friday that I would never be able to get the ferry. So we better figure on some day time activities on Friday DAY..

Jerry we should do a fishing trip on the friday. I should arrive thur 8-9 pm on thursday, gonna drive down from New Brunswick (just north of Maine) and grab ferry in New LondonOkay, I just talked to Betty.

Lets see if I can sum up 2 days of posts:
Please be advised travel thru or Near NYC and then going East on Long Island on a Friday afternoon / evining is a NIGHTMARE. A normal 2 hour drive can take 4+ hours. Those coming from New England take the ferries. http://www.longislandferry.com/ or http://www.bpjferry.com/. Reservations can be made. Members from NJ or the NYC Metro area know the traffic so they know the problem.Hmmm..... this may be an option for us. Paul must be way out on LI then, correct?

Those flying into LI Macarthur plan on a 1 to 1-1/2 hour drive.

30+ people getting together over a few beers talking shop for 3+ days will fit right in Southold Town.
We are or I should say Queen Victoria is looking into that. As Chris said the locals are a little weird.
With a true New England accent it couldn’t hurt. Hell the locals grew up rooting for the Boston Red Socks and the NE Patriots. Something to do with were closer to Boston then NYC.

Vicki has spoken with Betty and straightened it out. 3 night minimum, Thursday to Saturday or Friday to Sunday.
The reason for the check is they don’t want to keep the credit card charge for more then 30 days.
