I'm thinking of becoming a Coleman dealer. Just went to a 6 hr. meeting on the Luxaire/Coleman line. I was interested if anybody uses this product and how they feel about it. I've been in business for 3 years now and like the product I use now, but support from my supplier is fair to midland. The Coleman supplier I use just switched to this brand and I have dealt with them for the 3 years I have been in business and years before working for others. I like this supplier because they are there for you for any issue and they are very professional. Thanks for any info.

Twilli no offense, I dont play on that team. lol

As to the product, I like the equipment features(98% furnace, furnace size, condenser fin design). I guess my only problems at this point are pricing, I should be getting prices soon. And to make the switch.

We carry Luxaire as our first line, (same as York, Coleman). The one thing I really like is the fact that the least expensive high efficiency, (95.5 %) meets the fed tax credit. 33" helps in those tight change-outs too. Our 2nd line, (Armstrong) needs to go up to the VS to get the credit.
Also like the 97.7 mod, but some homeowners are having trouble adjusting to the fact that they can't tell if the furnace is actually running. (That's the whole point isn't it?)
Would like to see a communicating t-stat for the mod, but I've seen here that they've got that coming soon. Would be nice if the unit went right to high fire in recovery.

i can tell you that i have been to the york/luxaire/coleman plant, and have no issues with their product. things mentioned are nice for changeouts, such as the 33 incher. we use the luxaire for client changeouts, and have very few problems. coleman is the same in a differnet outfit. vendor support does matter. i have heard pricing is a tad high in comparison to other residential brands, but i wouldnt really know as i am commerical.

I've always liked York products, as we've installed several furnace's and a/c's over the years. They've all got extended labor warranties on them, and we've only been back out on maybe 1 or 2 with minor problems. A/c's have been good, although i don't particularly care for the look on some.

Be sure to beat them up on pricing, as they're only about 5% more than what we're paying for goodman.

Being heating season, it took me a few seconds to remember one issue I have with the A/C units.
They use a Micro Channel condenser coil, and we received a service bulletin last summer stating that pumping down refrigerant to the cond coil/comp will void warranty. Ouch!!
But they are much smaller than most of the C/U's on the market.

After reviewing offerings from Carrier and Trane, I have decided to replace my Furnace and AC with the Luxaire units. They definitley have teh head start with their modulating units and Trane has pretty much copied them with their new XC95m line. The luxaire units, as you know, have their control boards built by johnson Controls, and I believe the new Tranes have their boards built by Johnson as well. They both use the same motor from what I understand.

The York/Luxaire/Coleman are the most underratted from a retail sonsumer perspective. All I hear on the radio and TV are Carrier and Trane ads.

Plus, the York HEAC3000Y has the highest merv rating (16) of any air cleaner.

They make really good stuff. Looking forward to the install.
