Carrier Smart Thermostat - System monitor

We have a B series Carrier smart thermostat.

Carrier recently enabled a setting for “System Monitor enable/disable” without much documentation. What does the monitoring do? Additional notifications on the thermostat?

BTW - Is there a Cloud component to the thermostat? where data is uploaded to a portal and you can see maybe more details?
Thanks

Well,

Turns out it is not just a notification.
Turned it on, left home and soon after (couple hours) received an email with an error code :

>> This email was sent automatically because your "HOME" system issued the following URGENT message:
>> 140-SYSTEM MONITOR ALERT (Code: 140)

When we came home the system had completely shut down. Not running any heat source. Temperature had dropped.
There was the same error code on the UI. That had to be acknowledged for the system to kick back in.

Do we know what Code 140 is about? There is no information on the UI (nor the email).
And it is scary that the system just shuts down like that. Could it be a critical error?

Thanks

No, not a new install.
We had the HP installed last year. Thermostat was put on 3 years ago.

Techinician made a few changes recently to diagnose the <<139-ODU Defrost timer exceeded>> error. But most changes were lockout settings and timout value change on the ODU.

It could be safety. though it is strange that it just let the system back on after acknowledging the error. Since then I turned off that system monitor option and the UI is still showing it. Probably expecting to be reset.

This is from the firmware revision history on Carrier website for the 4.31 version of the thermostat firmware (https://legacy.myinfinitytouch.carrier.com/Content/docs/v0431-20221128.pdf)

>> System monitor – feature added to alert any potential issues with temperature control
>> Enable/disable for system monitor (provide an option to turn on or off this feature)

Worrisome for sure - I am going to have to reach back out to the company possibly for a full diagonsis of the system? Not sure.
