    Minisplit head search

I am looking for an indoor, minisplit fan coil that looks like a framed piece of art. I think Mitsubishi has one "Art Cool". Their product cannot be used on a singular zone system, must use the muti-zone set-up.
I want just one, 9 or 12K heat pump.
    Any help?

Carrier did this a long time ago. Not sure if it's still available.

Do you need mitsu or... I know it works on multi head set ups I have repaired a couple. As far as mitsu having it, nope. Unless there was a quiet sudden release of new fan coils. Lol.
Ahh. You just want a one to one. I don't know LG well enough to answer that. Just that they're the ones that sell it.

I just dealt with this. Customer has a 8yo 12k art cool picture frame. You can't get 1 to 1 any longer. They are available in 2+ zones and I tried calling tech to see if I could just run one head on a 2port condenser. They couldn't answer me I was just worried it wouldn't turn on without 2 heads connected. I ended up putting a ceiling cassette in front daikin

To install only 1 head on a 2-port unit, the answer is no. The unit will freeze up.

I don't think that's actually the case. It's the lineset length needed to buffer compressor hammer and some circuit boards need to sense a connected head. 1 head runs fine in a 2 head system. I had a 2 head last year where one head burnt up the board. It's still running today on just the 1 head. I wouldn't change it in a new install tho

Depends on the make and model.

As long as 2 heads are installed, yes you can run only one head without issue. If only one head is installed, you will have problems.

I haven't seen a manufacturer that says it's ok to install only 1 head on a multi-zone unit. They always specify minimum 2 indoor units. That being said, I haven't ever seen a 2-port unit with only 1 indoor unit installed that actually matches or goes above the outdoor unit capacity.
