Who should I hire - AC tripping circuit breaker

I see that the utility company has tricked someone into a rebate to throw their peak time controller on this unit. Despise those things.

AL is still ran to condensers, and stoves, on a fairly regular basis.

Most service drops are still AL.

That being said, when i ran my new drop at my house, i used copper.



As far the original issue, did your hvac guy say to call sparky if it happened again?

I don't recall him advising me to call an electrician if it happens again and hence my query here.

Yup. It looks like the CPJ series - see attachment.

The 4 ton version of this had a MOP of 50 amps.

This is great information. Now at least we know that I have the right size breaker.

If you are not on any plan or commitment to have the utility control your AC unit, then have your tech, when he comes out, bypass it.

You could have an eletrical issue, or a hvac issue, its hard to say.

Frankly, a minor electrical issue, to a circuit connected to hvac, should be correctable by any hvac guy worth his salt.

I turned on the AC last evening and it ran just fine and cooled the house whereby it was comfortable. I will take it day by day until it fails me and then call the HVAC guy and discuss the situation before approving any job. Thank you all for your advise.

I have had the AC on for last 2 days without any incident. I don't know what the HVAC professional would check if nothing is failing.
