    Nu-Calgon needs to play nice.

I heard from a good friend that the Nu-Calgon rep came in to one of their supply houses and apparently bought all of the Refrigeration technologies products to dump out and strong-armed the company into no longer carrying Refrigeration technologies products.
I have no problem with competition and new calgon makes hundreds of excellent products, they have a long-standing reputation and I'm pretty sure they've been around a lot longer than Refrigeration technologies so they really have no reason to be worried that they're losing a little bit of market share to several of refrigeration technologies cleaners and thread lubricants and such.
If you want to be top dog make the best product because I will demand the product I want and stopping a supply house from carrying it won't stop me from buying it. Also everybody who knows me knows I never shut up so a lot of people will hear about it and bad news travels a lot faster than good.

I'm tired of these mediocre "semi flammable" refrigerants. If we're going to do it let's do it right.
Unless we change direction we are likely to end up where we are going.

I like Nu-Calgon and I use a lot of AC renew and other products but if a manufacturer tries to keep me from getting products I like from another manufacturer I will fight back.

    Nu-Calgon needs to play nice.

What pisses me off is these reps worried about profit and not giving a shit about the people that need these products.

For example, a local electrical supply house was forced to not carry 3M stuff because the 3M rep said they didn’t sell enough to qualify for the products. How ****ing dumb is that? Well myself and others raised some hell about it (I personally called 3M) and I guess that stupid rep got fired or something because shortly after they got a new rep and the 3M stuff came right back.

May not be Nu-Calgon…it may be an ass hole rep. Call Nu-Calgon and complain about what the rep did. They may straighten that rep out.

    That's a really good idea.

I never did agree with it, but it happens all the time with equipment distributors.

In this particular situation I talked to the counter guys enough that they finally got the full selection of refrigeration technologies stuff in. The unfortunate part is there was only a few of us getting the stuff regularly and the supply house wasn’t moving it fast enough. I was there the day this nu calgon rep was there and was telling him how much I liked the viper pacs and the pan and drain spray. He was showing off his new dragon towels or whatever they are.
Couple days later I was in and asked the counter guys where the refrigeration technologies stuff was? They told me right after I left that rep bought everything they had and said he was gonna go kill grass with it. I may have pissed him off talking about how much I liked the competitions product that I guess he figured he would eliminate it, and since that particular supply house wasn’t moving it quick enough, they didn’t care either.

If you can't beat the competition, eliminate them.

    I don't get it, I really don't.

Nu-Calgon bought all of Refer Techs products to clean the shelves off. If I was the manager of that branch, I'd be thinking 'COOL' !!

Then turn around and order a bunch more of the same Refer Tech products. Just hoping the Nu-Calgon rep would stop in again, rinse and repeat.

I carry Nu-Calgon and several other brands, all stocked together. The rep has never tried something like that, nor would I put up with that. I'm pretty skeptical about this story, they may just be feeding you some BS. The reps have no say in what we carry, and rightly so. If this did happen I'd lodge a complaint with Nu-Calgon because I'd be sure they don't know their rep is doing that.

I did have a rep come in a few years ago and throw an actual temper tantrum because I had a display set up for a competing product and not his. He took pictures and swore he was going to call my corporate office and they would make me take the display down (which is funny because corporate sent it). He was so upset he stormed out of my store. I called the factory, told them what happened, they apologized repeatedly and fired the guy for it. It was the weirdest thing I've ever seen a rep do.
Good? Bad? I'm the guy with the gun.
