I am swapping out Fujitsu mini split wall units for Daikin wall units which require modifying the lineset because they don't match. The lineset is not being replaced so it has to be extended about 4 inches for each line to keep the same foot print on the wall. I brazed an extension on one time but that was a pain. I have since started leaving the original flare and re-flaring the line that is still left over from the old wall unit after I cut the old unit out. My question is, should I redo the old flares that have been there for a decade or just leave them as is since they don't leak. Any other ideas for extending the lineset is welcome as well. Thanks.

I'm tired of these mediocre "semi flammable" refrigerants. If we're going to do it let's do it right.
Unless we change direction we are likely to end up where we are going.
