Question New Shower Planned. American Standard Shower Valve Question

So my intention and product is supposed to be 2.5 gallon. This valve is where the mixed water comes into the shower pipe. What are your thoughts about removing this valve entirely. I do not understand its purpose other than to aid in any drip protection but I expect the ceramic mixer valve to do that. Not my shower head area.

    thanks

I'm tired of these mediocre "semi flammable" refrigerants. If we're going to do it let's do it right.
Unless we change direction we are likely to end up where we are going.
