Mini split...how much condensate is produced in heating mode?

Live in a condo and am not near a drain. Cooling is no problem. But heating....I know it drips condensate.

One company suggested an evaporator pan that's hot and will evaporate the water, but I don't like the idea of something hot being on all the time.

If I didn't want it on the ground how much condensate would this thing produce on say, a 40 degree humid night?
Any idea in terms of pints, liters, or gallons?

Maybe a half gallon, maybe.
What about a pan with a drain on it?

Looks like this has been an ongoing thing for a few months at the shackleford house.

It'll make a 1/2 gallon or so every hour during heating. It'll drain a good amount of water too when it defrosts.

My concern with a pan is with it freezing in the winter. You could have a heat pump sitting in a couple inches of ice once the drain freezes up.

I am a bit confused!!!!

OP states condensate in heating mode. As far as I know there is ZERO condensate produced in heating, but in cooling yes.

Are we talking about the frost build up on the OUTDOOR unit?

He's talking about defrost, because he wants to put a mini split on his second floor deck.

It's not allowed to drip on his neighbor.
