What type of licensing does your state require, some states have bare bone licensing, some states have many types. Does you state require a type of license to work the Commercial/Industrial stuff? If so wouldn’t you need that type of license?

Are controls ( low voltage ) itself a separate license in your state, or does it fall into another license?

Good for You! This is the "Proper Way" to Start off in this business (imo), despite what some preach. Hopefully Now, You have a Good Foundation to build Your HVAC/R Career on. I would still join RSES, go to the local meetings, and meet Contacts in the Commercial End. RSES also has one and two day long Seminars taught by factory Reps and Journeymen that cover a wide Range of Commercial HVAC/R Equipment. You will meet interesting people at these Seminars that know who is hiring and how to get an interview. STAY "HUNGRY TO LEARN",and "READY TO WORK HARD", and Someone will take a Chance on You.
