I installed a chilled water system for a printing press. It was used and had issues. We had to relocate the condenser to the roof as copper is getting good money at the scrap yard these days. With the new piping added, the old receiver isn’t large enough to accommodate the charge required for winter operation. ORI and ORD setup. (Live in Winnipeg). Is it ok to add another receiver in series? It would make sense to have it paralleled, but will it work ok with a second receiver added in series? Thanks in advance for any help with this.

Larger works
In Series Works
Can't say I've ever done in parallel
Should have been calculated before all the refrigerant was added!
You may need to add and remove charge between summer and winter
Officially, Down for the count

Probably to have sufficient cool gas ( Lenten Heat ) for harvest.
That would be my guess

Naw it was done for space. Couldn't fit one in so the used to small tanks. These are the machines that sit on the mcd's drive thru dispensers and are very compact.
