They have several lighting modes, and a motion detection mode. So if you turn around and the customer is there, wave your hand in front, light goes off, wave again light comes on.

I use this one from Amazon:

I keep 3 on the van... with a box of 18650 batteries... charge the batteries at home.

I'm a head lamp guy. Where ever I turn my head, there is light. Mostly ladder work above ceiling tiles. Used to carry an 18" fluorescent plug in, but for where I work now, no need for it.

Also carry an hand held LED rechargeable, have more than one, so one is always ready to go. Kinda sorta funny story:

Couple months back boss dude shows up on the job. Guess he thought I was taking too long, and he could find the problem ASAP. Climbs up the ladder to look around above the ceiling tiles. Pulls out his smarty phone. Looking around. I say, you ain't gonna see sh!t with that. And hold up my hand held. He keeps looking around. Now I raise my voice, "I said, YOU AREN'T GOING TO SEE ANYTHING WITH THAT PUSSY LIGHT, HERE, TAKE MY MAN LIGHT."

So now he's looking at me. I'm still holding my hand held light up for him grab. He finally takes it.

He's like, WHOA, this thing really works !!

    Insert eye roll here.

I do sometimes use a headlamp that has a battery pack on the back of the headband that takes three AAA batteries and it's no big deal. Kind of balances out the light really.

Most important tool probably depends on the work someone does.
I know the most abused tool is a screwdriver.

I've been using a variety of lights and just can't seem to find the right one. I have, as of now, a Milwaukee Rover LED magnet light that uses rechargeable batteries, two Klein handheld flashlights with side lights, one battery 56028 and one rechargeable 56412 , they work pretty well. and a Klein 56403 magnetic LED light that is rechargeable. On the battery Klein, I go through batteries like a fiend. I feel like I was filling the landfills with batteries all by myself, so I now use Amazon rechargeable batteries in it.
Best headlamp I've used is the Olight Perun 2. Insanely bright, wide floody light, magnetic charger.

When spelunking in the 80's head lamps were mostly home made. A large and heavy battery strapped
to my side with a cord that often got in the way.
The large battery was necessary in case things went South and might need hours of light.
There was a more portable light but the battery, a new type called lithium, but only lasted about 24 hours
    and cost $20.
    Ain't technology great!

Someone said a screwdriver is probably the most misused tool. I like to think of it as the screwdriver the most versatile tool. Makes me feel better I guess

I got to thinking about it driving between calls and I think my most profitable tool is my vehicle. Before I got a vehicle I had a heck of a time making a dollar. People don't like it when you show up on foot.

    How about . . .

A ladder to get to the roof so you can actually see the equipment?

Seriously, there is no ONE tool, except for your brain.

For sure. Hello I'm Zamoramax. And I'm a toolaholic. I ride around with 40-50k in tools in my rolling hardware store. It has been 5 weeks since my last purchase.

Naw. Just to busy with life. Haven't worked in 2½ weeks. Finally getting back into the swing of things and reality is finally hitting me. I had to numb up and deal with it so I'm finally feeling it this afternoon.
