how to climb over ac ducts in the attic

In attics that you basically have to crawl in, how do you all crawl over ac ducts in the attic without crushing them?

Is there some kind of straddle gizmo?
Hang from the roof rafters on like a zip line pulley system?

    curious.

    Thanks

Do you go to a boat repairman with a sinking boat, and tell him to put in a bigger motor when he tells you to fix the holes?

    Welcome to our world.

It is too bad that designers/architects and installers don't give a shit about servicing the equipment.

Meanwhile, the National Park Service, administered by the U.S. Department of the Interior, asks us to "Please Do Not Feed the Animals". Their stated reason for this policy "... the animals become dependent on handouts and will not learn to take care of themselves."

I'm tired of these mediocre "semi flammable" refrigerants. If we're going to do it let's do it right.
Unless we change direction we are likely to end up where we are going.

Thank God I don’t have to deal with that anymore. But you move very slowly and carefully. There is no easy way…it ****ing sucks.
There were a few attics I refused to go into. Know your limits. Then if the butt hole customer keeps pressuring you to go into it, tell them NO or make them sign something saying that they are 110% liable for all damages caused by you trying to get into an attic that you shouldn’t be working in.

I find that using Unico cooling systems eliminates about 95% of the problem.

I have attics in Florida which required adding several additional access hatches because the installed attic ductwork completely eliminated any possibility of traversing the attic itself.

Something that I do favor, and implement, is all interior (conditioned space) ductwork. Which empties the attic entirely of both ductwork while eliminating the need to access the attic space.

I run the main trunk run along the center support wall of the house. And then sheetrock it in to form a soffit. Finished and painted it goes completely un-noticed. Although I did do one with the soffits along both of the long outside walls.

There have been several times where I have had to take apart, or cut a duct run to access a part of the attic. Then repair it on my way out. Just one more thing to add to the ticket. That doesn't bother me half as much as the collection of glass fibers i keep in my lung...
