    Insulation?

    Hi,

My mother's old house has insulation all over the floor. I've attached photos. Does anyone know what this stuff is?
    Is it dangerous?

    Thanks for any info,
    Steve

    "Looks" like fiberglass.

    Dangerous Yes No Maybe.

Were a face mask (plenty around now) and keep the dust to a minimum.

looks like rockwool to me. about same issue as fg, but more itchy.

not sure why the floor and roof are insulated. if its an attic, wouldn't hurt to upgrade entire area to higher r-value.

Does not look like fiberglass to me.

If you get it on your arm, is it itchy? If not it is not fiberglass.

I have some of that I used to get rid of an extra window in a kitchen where I wanted to put something else. I stuffed the wall cavity with that stuff. It was nor itchy.

Take it to a building supply store and ask there. Over the internet, we can only guess.
Can someone please explain to me -
Why is there never enough time to do it right the first time, but plenty of time to do it twice?
