Also ask them for the AHRI number to prove a matched systems, and a certain SEER and EER as you don’t go by the rating of the outdoor unit only. It’s a team effort of indoor to outdoor selection that give you those numbers, ( not real world numbers thou, but nice to know what a system is rated at plus you need a AHRI number for rebates ) Once you get the number enter it at this site. Top left side, keep hitting anything in blue to view and print certificate. Ask them if they can guarantee that the models they propose they can get.
Had several home owners come here stating that what was bid and contract signed the Contractor did a switch ( thinking they could not get the part they bidded ) and installed a different model, in some case a inferior lower tier line part and even had the gall to not mention the switch to the homeowner or discussed options.

Did they mention rebates to you ( money in your pocket ) if SEER and EER meet minimum threshold?
One source for rebates or you can query your local utility company. Your bidding Contractors should know all this and mentioned it to you…

Any reason your not getting bids for a higher efficiency furnace, than a 80% furnace, such as a condensing furnace which starts at 92%> there are typically rebates and the Federal Tax Credits if they are 95% or higher.
