A lot of us are working on it.
Rest assured they will not get lost.

Rundawg said he's got 90 of the reach-in systems now on file.
He's going to download as many as possible so I've been told.

Also it would be nice to see you around more often because we need your experience.

Now that I've officially retired, I should have more time for HVAC-Talk. I will endeavor to do such. Let me know if I can assist with moving Icemeister's files. I have plenty of website design experience (even if I don't do it particularly well) and I'm more than willing to put an "icemeister's Back Room" menu button on my website for easy access to these files.

    Thanks Andy

Looks like you retired to get on and I retired to get off... LOL

Charlie's database is located on his computer and his wife seems to be using it for email and such. She is not in a mental place where she wants to discuss it for now.

I'll keep chatting with her and hopefully soon be able to grab the database but until then you can still access his site via the internet.

I have 300 plus of his manuals saved to my library now. They are mostly “Ice Maker” and “Self Contained” unit manuals.

I will continue to down load his other manuals in the days ahead.

I've updated my profile to list my current website and email.

We'll have to download Icemeister's files the old-fashioned way and reassemble to a new site. At some point when his website url/user name/password becomes available, someone should look around it to make sure we found everything.

Isn't there a software that allows you to download and entire website? I ran across it once but never used it or know how well it works. I am sure there are several of them out there.
Can someone please explain to me -
Why is there never enough time to do it right the first time, but plenty of time to do it twice?

I'm pretty sure he has a server at his house. I did a little looking around. His IP address is hosted by a US ISP not AWS or anything like that so it must be static pointing to his personal box. When Mrs. Bartlett is feeling better I'll ask to see if I can remote into his server. Should be straight forward. It will just take time. I also asked her to send me any bill associated with his website hosting until we get this resolved.

If we are not able to get his database for some strange reason then as it has been said, most everything he has can be recreated or downloaded.

We intend to host Charlie site on HTalk, we have the room and the capabilities. I appreciate everyone volunteering their services for sure. I would like to call his area "Charlies Corner" if that's OK with everyone.

Oh, the reason I'm working with this is because I am the only person she knows from HTalk. Seems she has had someone already try to get into her banking services after Charlie passed.

As I'm now retired, I've taken the liberty of setting up a "shell" on my website that could be used to easily access Icemeister's files: https://hvacradvisors.com/ As I see it, everything can be done in html and JavaScript. The only real issue I see is the massive amount of content on his website. It will take time to put together. If I'm given this task, I will provide the files to HVAC-Talk when complete.

I like that multiple people are working on this because it would be sad if one person had everything and something catastrophic happened and it was lost.
Thank you for your part in this.

I'm tired of these mediocre "semi flammable" refrigerants. If we're going to do it let's do it right.
Unless we change direction we are likely to end up where we are going.

Thanks Andy.. good to have you back here.

Am doing everything I can when chatting with Mrs. Bartlett, she is frail. As I progress and start to have issues I'll give you a shout. May want to get everything off his site as a download just in case.

It is a great loss and maybe it's that I seem to be surrounded by like events of late - but Charlie's passing has apparently had a particularly darkening impact on me. Everything passes but it just feels so very odd. I had a friend in WV go in a similar way not too long ago. He was in the middle of telling a joke, paused, and never finished - gone.

Rundawg and I have been working on assimilating his back room website to my website. He will not be forgotten.
