    I gave up!!!!

A couple of weeks ago I posted about my compressor intermittently making a funny whistling noise and not starting up sometimes after putting some stop-leak in my system in hopes of sealing a leak in my evaporator coil.

We bought our home 5 years ago and we've had nothing but trouble with our old Rheem system. From repair costs to it not really having much air movement, we've been unhappy with it.

    So, I gave up!!!!

I had a York 5 ton system put in with a Honeywell thermostat and we love it.

I purchased a York YFK60B21S Two Stage Compressor and a AVC60DX21 Air Handler. I had them put in a Honeywell thermostat and I'm loving it.

    So, how'd I do?

    Thomas

That’s Grrrreat! my hats off to you for doing your part keeping the global economy moving forward with this purchase.

Shows that combo is a AHRI match gives 16 SEER and 12.75 EER. Needs the TXV as that coil comes with no metering device, and can accept either a TXV or a piston metering device. The X in the model number says no metering device came from the factory. The AHRI number shows AVC60DX21+TXV

Dated 2016 thou page 6 section V discusses metering device, also discusses external static pressures checking, ( page 21 ) would be a good thing to check..

    Active AHRI number 202142070

If your state or local utility company has rebates that system should qualify. There is also the Federal Tax Credit.

Make sure to register your system as manufacturers warranty decreases if never registered. California or Quebec need not be registered to receive the manufacturers maximum warranty.

Thanks for the tip on the tax credit. I hadn't thought of that.
