That is downspout - not gutter.

I know that because I use the same thing myself. Lineset cover just 'doesn't go' - it's still obvious that you've covered up something. But a downspout just 'blends-in' - nobody even notices it on a house with rain gutters and downspouts anyway.

    Plus; it costs $1.00 a foot. <g>

That's a heck of a lot cheaper than line set cover. I think on our last mini split install we could have just charged for the line hide and thrown the rest of the equipment in for free. It's insane how high the stuff has got.
I also really like that downspout comes in multiple colors so we could probably match most houses.
The only thing I wonder about is how hard it would be to feed the line set through the tube?

I'm tired of these mediocre "semi flammable" refrigerants. If we're going to do it let's do it right.
Unless we change direction we are likely to end up where we are going.

For 8-10' you can usually push it through. For second story work you can pull it in like wire in conduit.

Oh - you put the lineset in the downspout Before installing the downspout on the wall. <g>

BTW: Downspout is also available in 3 by 4 rather than the standard residential 2 by 3.

Makes a real nice looking job, doesn't it?

What's the little roofed thing to the right of the condensing unit?

I will stick with my speedi-channel. For the aggravation of feeding the line through I will save my time and money with it.

That’s as much deck as can be afforded in today’s world.

30k for the deck, 35k for the roofing cover portion.

2 years ago, would have been scrap. Today, trade for gold.

good looking install. a question, I haven't done residential in about 10 years but weren't equipment makers moving towards having the driers being installed, inside by the air handler.

I wouldn't put it in the attic either. I always put them inside as close as practical to the indoor coil with the exception of attic systems. If I need to replace a compressor I don't want to drag a torch to the attic (near combustibles). It will filter just as well but outside in the elements is the tradeoff. Just my $.02

Filters outside...as Kangaroo said. Keep all the torching outside if possible.

That being said, I worked for a guy that was adament about filters near the evaporator, no matter what. We had a compressor go out on a 3 story townhome when it was 115 degrees outside. It was originally scheduled for the "fatazz" lead tech that sucked a lot of sausage in the company. He complained and I got sent out......ya right!!

I put my 2 week notice in. This was over 15 years ago.

Here’s a mini I installed a few months back, got the downspout to match an existing one for the drain. I did offer the homeowner the option to add the liter head to completely match. I folded a section into the spout to seal the top. If the outdoor unit were down here the lines would be run inside also.
