    Hoshizaki

    Hey all,
one of my techs replaced the pump on a Hoshizaki model IM-500SAA about two weeks back. Today we got another call saying the machine was down. He found the new pump was seized. He called me and I asked what his voltage was, if the machine was dirty, was there any minerals in the pump etc. He told me everything was fine. He did say when he installed the new pump the water was flowing over the motor from the water drain pipe. That didn't seem right to me. We call Hoshizaki support and their tech said he never heard of such a thing and gave us no solution, and said to just replace the pump again. Has anyone seen this before and if so what was the fix? i really don't want to keep going through pumps.

This machine is configured like a Kolddraft. horizontal evap plate on top with a water plate under it spraying up. the drain pipe allows the water from the water plate to flow back to the water trough and get pumped again.
