That's not encouraging. I've been around people on marijuana all my life and I think they're almost worse than the ones on meth as far as brains go. But at least you can generally trust them a little bit more than the ones on meth.

I'm tired of these mediocre "semi flammable" refrigerants. If we're going to do it let's do it right.
Unless we change direction we are likely to end up where we are going.

In my state weed is legal and employers cant test or discriminate against users, I dont see a problem with people smoking weed on their own free time.
There is not better place for the working men than the union! 100% UA the only HVAC union!

The only thing I smoke are cigars one or twice a month, I believe people should be free to do with their lives what they want, the government has no right telling anyone what they can or cant eat, drink or smoke, in my opinion all drugs should be legal.

The last paragraph in the story is why they can't attract help.
Our UA local changed the THC drug testing policy after weed was legalized in IL. From what I understand, they have since changed it back.

Doesn't sound correct. Was that written into the law?

We had a pot head awhile back. Daily smoker. I had a talk with him explaining how it was holding his career back. He lasted a few more months then we had to fire him.
I do a triple evac with nitro to remove non condensables.

Yes! the law allocated pot to the same line as alcohol and tobacco products, sheltered under same rules. a lawyer wrote an article in the union news paper explaining the whole deal, our union stopped testing apprentices for pot.

So if there is a accident they test no?
And when that one brownie you ate last month for your birthday is showing up on your test...

Was "the brownie you ate last month" a factor in the accident? if it was then maybe the beer you drank last night should also count against you.....I really don't know or care, cops made a big stink about it prior to legalization and it all boils down to "cognitive impairment" what you ate, drank or smoked a month ago doesn't count, that was nonsense to begin with.

We stopped testing for THC as it is legal in NV and soooo many applicants were failing the test....
So far, have not seen any issues.. Time will tell.
We do require a drug test if you have an accident on the job and worker's comp is involved.

That’s been my position on drug tests. With metabolites that stay in a person’s system a long time there is no way to prove they were under the influence at the time of the accident.

I definitely think that marijuana should be legal since it has a better track record than alcohol. Also, I think non addictive hallucinogens like the various forms of dmt can be useful and should not be illegal. Besides just making them legal, one option would be to make them clinically available. The research on psilocybin seems very promising.
But I don’t think I can agree that all drugs should be legal because the cost to society could be too great. I feel people addicted to heroine are not only unproductive, they are a drain on society.

Oh but there is. Don't ask how I know but, my very expensive lawyer told me that there are 3 levels of testing; presence, which finds the "substance" in your system, concentration which indicates how much is in your system and the "Level 3" (as he called it) test that identifies the psychoactive component level (impairment).

People should be free to do as they wish with their lives, harm yourself all you want is your right, government has no business tell you what to do, is not like the so called "war on drugs" has succeeded any, as a matter of fact the "war on drugs" is a vivid example of government epic failure, is easier today to buy any drug anywhere in the US than it was 30 years ago, making drugs legal will put the dealers and cartels out of business and will save countless lives, think about how many drug addicts die cause bad batches.

Yes it’s my understanding that those tests can be done but it seems most people are judged by just the basic metabolite test. Is that not the case?

Yeah the war on drugs is a complicated problem with a lot of layers.
I do think people should be free but things get complicated when a person’s freedom can directly interfere with someone else’s rights, resources, and/or freedom.
