I have a Trane XV18 AC and rodents ate the insulation on the wires. Does anyone have suggestions on how to prevent this in the future after we have the harness replaced?

Non-Metallic Liquidtite,…they’ll just move to your circuit board(s) afterwards and urinate and deficate and eat those board(s) and wiring, not necessarily in that particular order thou, so you may want to tighten up that area also…..
J/k, but you could try installing chicken wire or use spray foam to cover any small openings into the control box. Not a whole lot you can do about wiring going through the cabinet to other components.
Would wrapping all of the wires in black electrical tape prevent the rodents from coming, from researching a little looks like they like the taste of the insulation covering these wires. Reading posts about similar issues with garaged cars. All of the wires they chewed are inside the unit. They don’t seem to like the brown wire that runs from outside to inside the unit.
I had them eat ( mice anyway ) my ductwork all the way through, starting with the thin aluminum foil outer skin then the 1” thick pressed fiberglass ( fiberboard ) in my other house, that was fiberboard duct board…..
