Nope. Always been a walk-in beer cooler, place been a liquor store for decades. Box is 10x26 with 10 glass doors, was just hoping to cross reference the evaporator because I know that 1HP R22 unit isn’t correct

You need about 900 BTU's per glass door.

The top pic is the evaporator. The RCM26, i used the KeepRite load calc and says it needs a 3HP unit for it but I just wanted to confirm that is what was originally in there. Owner said it worked fine til it leaked and they had someone throw that R22 unit in there

    Evaporator is rated at 26,000
8000 per HP on medium temperature.
We don't use HP in refrigeration
    So a 3 HP would yield approximately 24,000 BTU's

Yeah that’s what’s I’m figuring so the 3HP is probably right. I usually just run it by United Refrigeration but they’re so backed up like us all

That box was originally a freezer R-502. If they just raised the temperature then im sure 3-HP was more then enough!
2+ - HP at best. With glass doors I like 2 systems. Better matching the load and you have a back up.

Don’t think it was, didn’t see a time clock or heaters on coil(it was exposed, I should have taken a pic). Plus no amp draw rating on the plate for them.

The 2 units are a great idea but would be a tough sell, I’ll give him the option but when it comes to the $# that’s what they decide on, not what’s best

When I first read R502 I was thinking the same ( freezer ) but there's no load rating on that tag for heater or door.
Who in their right mind would expect that pictured compressor tag to even come close ?
Okay I'll just wait to type to see your response first LOL !

Easy sell when it goes down for a few days and his sales go to Zero!

Add to that less electric usage at mild times and faster pull down when loading warm product!

I agree, personally I haven't either although members here have mentioned it being used for medium temperature.
    Kinda like R404a
Which is what the OP will most likely be getting
    or R448a/R449a
