There are some applications where it works fine but from my experiences, 60-70% of the time it’s problematic. Capacity is one issue. I almost always have to adjust the hell out of the valve to avoid extremely low SH at the pump. And another problem, which I can’t prove at the moment, is I’ve seen a lot of refrigerant leaks spring up out of nowhere after a MO99 retrofit. Not the elastomeric seals we are accustomed too when dealing with a system that previously ran R22. I’m talking about U-bends in evaps and old deteriorated line-sets and braze joints.

I do what I can to avoid using it.

It is a great way to fill up and empty r22 system to cool for the weekend until the system can be replaced.

I worked with an old R22 system today that I ended up filling with MO99. No charge info on unit.
I charged 4lbs 5oz into a 2 ton system. Suction pressure was 52psi(suction line temp was 45f)...but my discharge pressure
was really low at 110 psi. ??? Could find no explanation for that. It wasn't that warm out...outdoor ambient was low at 66 degrees.
Supply air temp was around 52 degrees. Return air was 68-70 degrees.
