YT PRV Barber-Colman actuator

Found on PM PRV actuator working OK but leaking oil, JCI discontinued the MP-481-129-0-2 actuator and now sells a retrofit kit for a whole lot of dough, Local supply house has the same actuator made by Schneider Electric for a fraction of OEM cost, thinking about going that route and saving the customer some money. Was the old Barber-Colman made specifically for York? or a generic run of the mill part with nothing special about it?

Far as I remember they were off the shelf parts.
