    Pain in the butt...

Back, shoulder, knees, arms, legs, chest.

This is what happens when you say to yourself, “I’ll insulate that later”. Can only blame myself, cause I put the wall there.

At one point I thought Id need move in, cause I almost got stuck.

Being the worker, and the customer all at once did not make it any better, other then not having a time table to worry about.

Took me 4 evenings after work.

    Probably around 20 hrs

If I do a job in 30 minutes it's because I spent 30 years learning how to do that in 30 minutes. You owe me for the years, not the minutes.

Who’s to blame?... if you’re looking for the guilty, you need only look into a mirror. I know why you did it. I know you were afraid. Who wouldn’t be? War, terror, disease. There were a myriad of problems which conspired to corrupt your reason and rob you of your common sense. Fear got the best of you, and in your panic you turned to the now high chancellor, Adam Sutler. He promised you order, he promised you peace, and all he demanded in return was your silent, obedient consent. V for Vendetta

I'm tired of these mediocre "semi flammable" refrigerants. If we're going to do it let's do it right.
Unless we change direction we are likely to end up where we are going.

Thanks. Turned out pretty well considering I was so cheap about it, I did it all from a sheet roll of foil faced fiberglass insulation. Lots of folding, stapling, and some FSK tape.

The hardest was the elbows to get them to look 1/2 decent. So I pre-made elbow shaped insulation “fittings” took some trial and error to get the geometry right.

I've always thought of that as the highest quality. Is there something better?

For the round, it cerainly would have been easier to get foil sleeve and insulate as I was installing.

I knew it, but was too cheap about it. The insulation would likely have cost 3 times what the actual duct material did.

If I were paying labor, that added cost of materials paired with vastly reduced labor time would have been worth it for sure.

I wouldn’t want bubble wrap. I wouldn’t want to have to apply fiberglass but I think it does a better job.

Bubble wrap to me is just another product they have cheapened.. make it quicker..easier... I see a lot of crappy jobs with bubble wrap.

Staples... fsk tape... and the goop... that’s how I would do it.

People around here don’t staple anything... not even fiberglass... just tape... that fails because they don’t even squeegee it.

The new bubble wrap isn’t the easiest or fastest thing to apply “correctly” I think it gives a nicer product than the old FSK wrap though. I like that with a good pair of scissors you can make a half cut and push them right though the material as well. It’s all we use now, R8 bubble with the air strips. Mastic tape or brush on mastic on the seams.
