    Here's a good one

Got a first year warranty call that AC won't come on.. found the pink tape holding the thermostat to the wall and the client had been on phone with HW getting instructions how to rewire it..

Flex Seal tape would have worked better.

Duh!...Everyone knows pink tape is for cooling only stats.
They probably told them to try to replace the batteries first and they yanked the whole the whole thing off the wall.
If I do a job in 30 minutes it's because I spent 30 years learning how to do that in 30 minutes. You owe me for the years, not the minutes.

And that's why whenever possible I get a nice long screw into a stud when installing a stat.
Never have a call back when the stat is smashed. But if they just yank it out of the sheet rock somehow it's my fault lol

The reason it’s not cooling is because the stat is set to heat

first company i did commercial for had a school that they put a new system on. kids/teachers whoever would rip the stat off the wall to get into the lock box. they had so many "warranty" calls over it, they finally installed a prison grade 1/4" steel plate box. the next call, guy shows up, and box is laying on the floor with a huge piece of drywall attached, huge hole in the wall, wire ripped in half....no more warranty calls after that one!! LOL!!
