Lennox SLP98V Furnace with Communicating only Control Board?

I have hated my Lennox iHarmony zoning setup since it was installed as it doesn't match CFM to output. It matches output to CFM and it drives me nuts. I hired a local contractor to replace everything (iComfort Wifi, iHarmony zoning) with a different zoning control system.

When the contractor came out to do the install, they said the control board on the SLP98V will only work with a communicating control system and cannot be used with non-communicating type controls. They showed me where the jumpers should be that you would normally cut to enable things like 2-stage compressor, Dehum, and something else and those jumpers were not there to be cut. They also showed me how when they applied a signal to the Y1 terminal on SLP98V control board, the voltage was also present on the Y2 terminal making it impossible to do 2-stage compressor operation. The dip switches were also covered in an amber film as if you can't adjust them (you can still adjust them).

As this contractor doesn't do Lennox equipment they said they don't know if the control board can be replaced with one that would work with traditional controls (non communicating) but they couldn't get one anyway since they don't do lennox.

So i guess my question is, can anyone confirm there are different versions of the control board on an SLP98V furnace? If so, can they be swapped out?

    Thanks.

I think u need a new contractor. I am pretty sure the I comfort can be programmed properly and the furnace can use conventional zoning.

I have confirmed the iComfort and iHarmony cannot operate the way I want them. I would need the LPZ4 lennox zone control to operate the zoning the way I prefer and I need traditional t-stats in each zone. I am getting my original installing contractor to provide me a quote for that installation. But I dont want to shell out the money for that if the SLP98V won't work with non-communicating controls.

SLP98V should work with conventional systems but as I mentioned, the Control Board appears neutered. It doesn't have the jumpers to cut where they should be and when a signal to Y1 is applied to the furnace, the furnace thinks it is a Y2 call. It is like Y1 and Y2 are jumpered within the circuit board somehow. Even the lennox specialist contractor doesn't know why it is doing that.
