My house. Pulled 120k 80% installed 80k 96% 2 stage. Thermostat and wire is temp (for the foreseeable future). The wire and local used was the old humidifier wire. Have yet to install my iwave r back. Humidifier not installed yet.

In addition to furnace and coil, added 4 new returns to system and replaced all attic duct. I think that’s it.

    Old HX.

I guess I realize I don’t have a pick with the doors on. O well....

I'm trying to figure out the 2" ball valve.
Is that thing in the intake??
It`s better to be silent and thought the fool; than speak and remove all doubt.

Lol looking at my post i need better pic. I also forgot my drain line is half ass waiting to do correct.

No the coil is not brazed/sweet in as ima buy a new ac/hp and install hopefully in the next 30 days. And with such I’ll be running a new 7/8 lineset.

Will pull 42k ac and put in a 36k ac/hp setup.

I will say the ion (icp) stat is nice(ish).

Old return into furnace was 14” square. New return is 33”x21”.

    Static per unit was .47.

One day I will do a full start up lol.

When your. It getting paid to do the work it seems to happen at a slower pace.

Since install 2 months ago don’t think it’s come out of 1st stage...

So yes it is on the intake. “When” I run my CA and if I cannot get my O2 down I can play with that. Odds are less than 50% I need it but I figured it’s easier now then later to put in.

Yes that valve was $40 but wtf I will only replace the furnace in this house once.

Is it sitting on the coil case or is there a transition?

Here she is with my dry fit pvc drain and stat wire blowing in the wind. I’ll get around to the fine details at some point. Maybe when I put my outdoor unit in and new lineset.

I wouldve made that transtion taller and the transiton between the filter and return drop smaller. Those N coils suck when restricted, as I'm sure you know.

Factory transition is 6” I believe. I just don’t like the 2 piece design so had the guys make the one.

Need to install new drywall over the old as well. Holes and water stains from old flu. Just don’t feel like patching so I’ll put a whole new sheet in.

The ball valve is a method taught for fine tuning the combustion process. When the PVC runs are short, the gases pass too quickly through the HX and the efficiency is reduced. By adjusting/restricting the intake while performing a combustion analysis the efficiency is maximized.
I highly recommend the NCI combustion analysis class. It's a game changer.

That is a really cool way of getting proper combustion. I have had difficulty at times with gas furnaces getting the combustion levels I want to see and no way to adjust them.

    Very Cool indeed.
Can someone please explain to me -
Why is there never enough time to do it right the first time, but plenty of time to do it twice?

Im doing well, thanks for asking. Yea, I finished the majority of the house and we moved in about a year and a half ago. I’m still working on it some, in the process of rehabbing the master bed and bath right now which was put on the back burner for a while.

You need to find a better valve supplier.

I just bought a 2” pvc ball valve for 10 bucks at Menards.

    Hell a schedule 80 is like 20.

Also, that 3rd 3” pvc drop, what’s that for? Line-set chase?

2 inch ball valve used to dial in combustion analysis. lowers your excess air essentially creating a cleaner burn with less CO

    Line set yes.

It may have only been $20 I picked up a bunch of stuff that day and didn’t itemize it out. It is a schedule 80 as they didn’t have 40 in stock.

When faced with the choice between changing one's mind, and proving that there is no need to do so, most tend to get busy on the proof.
