I listen to Dan Patrick sports talk every now and then and he really pushes a pellet grill.
I been pondering the idea.
What do you have and is a game changer once you get it?
I hear they can sear smoke grill bake etc etc.
I’m somewhat more interested in smoking, but I had an ol manual smoker and I just could not commit the time.

Do it!!!
I have a Camp Chef pellet grill with a sear box sidekick. I use it 3-5 times a week year round. Very versatile. You won't get a heavy smoke flavor from it even with a smoke tube. Personally, I don't like smoke that you can still taste 2 days after you've eaten the meal.

Ohh yeah. I refuse to only go pellet. No reason other than I love to smoke. Nothing better than 6,8,12 hours with beer coals and apple/mesquite/hickory logs. Thats my therapy session.

It’s well worth the investment. Absolutely zero regrets.

I agree....just get one. First thing I made was a pork tenderloin. Wife said it was the best pork tenderloin she has ever eaten. Good smoke taste but not overpowering.

So the pork takes awhile so tonight's dinner is a beef tenderloin I smoked for an hour on the pellet grill and finished on the BBQ.

For pulled pork I do overnighters. Put them on at 9:30-10:00 PM, let them go all night and usually they are ready around lunchtime the day we eat it. Early is no problem, I put them in a cooler wrapped in beach towels and they stay hot for 4 or 5 hours.

I am kind of hesitant to do an overnighter because of the bears. Likely be gone by the morning with a destroyed pellet grill.

Pork butts definitely take a while. You can get it done in less time if you crank the heat half way through. I usually try to get them started by 6 or 7 am to have them ready for dinner. I might cook at 225 for a couple hours, but let it get up to 250-275 to speed things up. Wrap tightly in foil or butcher paper if the bark is to your liking and you want to speed things along.

Me and a buddy have an order pending for half a ton of pellets between us. We don’t have enough people for the full order yet though.

I have a Green Mountain pellet grill, I don't know if it would do an overnight, well maybe. I did a pork butt a week ago Friday. Started it at 6:30 AM at 350, turned it over an hour later and set it down to 225. At 10:30 I put it in foil and put it back on the smoker. Checked it again at noon and the smoker was screaming for pellets. Now if it was put on at 225 and left there it may work. The other side of that coin is I should get a blanket for it to hold heat especially in cold weather. Ended up pulling the butt off at 2:30 PM with a temp of 207°, wrapped it is a towel and put it in a cooler till 6ish. Very tender and moist but not much for a bark.
One thing about a pellet grill is don't get stuck in a rut and just put meat on it. Some of the best homemade pizza, bread, and Mac & cheese has come off that smoker.
Final thought, I have a customer I get my pellets from buys it by the pallet with another guy. He sells a 40 lb bag to me for $13 so it is costing him less than that. The only issue with that is you are limited to only one kind like hickory for example. Personally I can't tell the difference one wood type to another flavor wise.

I've done a killer lobster mac & cheese on the grill as well as crab legs, shrimp, crawfish, and veggies. I'm thinking of doing a bread pudding on the grill for Easter.
