    800lbs of old hvac gone

Fun changeout. Customer originally had someone they paid upfront to replace the hvac but the guy took their money and left the units there. So we got hired to put in what he bought! He had an 80% goodman and a bryant ac unit and coil. We ended up putting in a runtru 96% and the bryant equipment. Just waiting for all the electrical to be updated now and then we will start it up

I'm tired of these mediocre "semi flammable" refrigerants. If we're going to do it let's do it right.
Unless we change direction we are likely to end up where we are going.

Looks like you had some cleaning up of wiring still to do, and that gas valve is off, but nice job otherwise.

Do like I do. Wait until you have the customer's check in hand and all is done. Then it is picture time .

How did the heat exchanger look in that old Lennox unit? 50-60 years old.

The ones I have seen looked heavy enough that you could almost have burned wood or coal in them. Seldom burn thru walls.

When they're updating the entire electric for the 1950 house I sure do, new service, new panel, all new romex. Also it's not just some electrician, we do work with the guy all the time

    Awesome, as usual.

One thing I like to do in basements and garages is run the secondary drain into a bucket with a little pea gravel in it and install a hockey puck wet switch in it.

Other than the lack of a media air cleaner, looks good. Bet his gas bill drops like a rock!

That old Lennox air cleaner cabinet. Did it have the media filters with electronic air cleaner? Have not seen one of these since I worked for a Lennox dealer in the 70's! Was a heck of a filtration system....

lennox bulk filter media, came on a 25 foot roll. the reason i carried a scissors on the truck in my early days.
pain in the rear to use the slides to latch to the "fence" to hold the media in place

Yes it was! Pretty sure it was heavier than the furnace. When I threw that out if my box van it hit the ground and that was it no roll or anything.
Unfortunately I collect all the old logos of units I rip out and the speigler broke..

I am just guessing but my guess would be that the gravel is there to precent nuisance trips. If the puck is directly on the bottom of the bucket even a drop of water can set it off. Set up an inch or three on pea gravel or marble chips it would only alarm if the overflow got serious.

Hey sorry to possibly be "that guy" but check local codes regarding an orphaned water heater. Can't really see what the water heater is vented into.

Looks to have the flue wrap around behind the furnace into the what looks like 6” b-vent.
