Then there's Chicago, Crystal Lake, Elgin. I'm not sure where I'm from anymore.
Filming the Blues Brothers turned the town into a party. Cab Calloway riding around in his vintage Cadillac. Seems like parties followed those guys. They sure totaled a lot of cars.

Mine is a caricature of an old pick up that has been turned into a hotrod. I have an old pick up that I want to turn into a hotrod. If you look at that avitar it looks kinda beat which is how I feel some days which all goes along with my username.

Mine is a bunch of Trane power stealing thermostat resisters that I put heat shrink tubing on the leads of.

I'm tired of these mediocre "semi flammable" refrigerants. If we're going to do it let's do it right.
Unless we change direction we are likely to end up where we are going.

They recently reopened Phil's Beach where the scene in Blues Brothers was filmed. It's been closed for 30 years. Funny story. I did an emergency freezer condensing unit replacement at a restaurant on Bangs Lake. Turns out the unit my boss ordered from the supply house didn't have a defrost clock with it and I didn't have one on the truck. I let the unit run overnight and returned in the morning with the clock. I open the freezer door and just about pissed my pants. The owner of the restaurant was hunting the day before and stuck the head of a large buck just inside the door. I open the door of the freezer expecting to see regular restaurant food and instead there was a deer head staring at me.

Elgin is the next town west of me. Aurora is roughly 1/2 hour to 40 minutes south of Elgin
Halloween took place in an imaginary city in IL. I'm not too sure where Camp Crystal Lake is supposed to be located.

Dude I don’t think I could ride a roller coaster anymore. You know you’re getting old when you go to swing with your kids on the park swing set and feel like puking

I know what waynes avatar is...it’s a bubble on top of another bubble...a very unique illustration and it probably represents refrigerant bubbling out of compressor oil...right???

Mine is Daniel Plainview from "There will be blood". Amazing movie, amazing actor. My old avatar which was associated with my old screen name was Jack Nicholson, frozen at the end of "The Shining". I will probably switch it up soon, I have a couple of ideas.
-
Don’t switch it. Then I’ll think you’re not around anymore lol. I mostly recognize the pictures not the names.

I've spent damn near every weekend, the last 25 years, between ice out and ice up, fishing the Fox Chain. Lived in Streamwood the last 20 and Chicago prior to that. Used to fly/drive to Tampa twice a year when my ol' lady's grandmother was alive. She lived in Madeira Beach.

I swear this came up before concerning avatars? Either case, this goes one on one with this thread concerning our screen names. Well worth re-reading through that, even the newer guys should maybe start adding to that thread? It is in the PRO section, for good reason.

As for my avatar. When I was a kid, one of the coolest memories is my Dad waking me up and he had some goodies and we sat together and watched the movie, Kelly's Heros, just he and I. I loved that movie and enamored with the character, Odd Ball, played by Donald Sutherland. I incorporated his view on life into my own. "The bridge will be there, it is a mother beautiful bridge". Woof Woof!

This is getting weird. I also lived for a short time in Burton's Bridge on the Fox River while building my house. Lots of boat people would hit the taverns going North to Balarnie's Island. I also lived a short year in another place on the Fox called Rawson's Bridge. I think we talked about this before.
My folks had a cabin on the Fox in McHenry when I was a kid. A place called Hickory Grange. The town saved the old bridge we called the Bumpidy Bumpidy Bridge. Is the bridge still there?
My neighbor fell through the ice on the Fox with his snowmobile. Didn't make it.
