I just use a hack saw and a mill bastard file. They are handy for many other things also so the space in my truck is better used for them.

I'm tired of these mediocre "semi flammable" refrigerants. If we're going to do it let's do it right.
Unless we change direction we are likely to end up where we are going.

I’ve had about 5 condenser fans over several years, that were rust-welded on, broke one puller and jacked up the fan blade. If I was still doing residential I would get one.

I still fail to se the purpose. Now that I know it isn't just for cutting shafts to length I can't figure out a use for it. Is it obvious and I just had too much bourbon tonight?

typically the end of the shaft sticking out of the hub is the most rusted area, this cut off tool cuts the shaft almost flush with the blower hub.

Oh and that is supposed to make a big difference? The really stuck ones I have seen were stuck firmly in place. They didn't have a chance of sliding onto the rest of the rusty shaft.

with the cut shaft , it is easier to mount the fan puller or drive the shaft out with a hammer and drift punch..

    And a hammer....

I always smack it down to break free before trying to get it off...

I've never found one I couldn't get off. Might take 30 minutes but so far they have always came off. A few have required torches....

I've seen them as well and shafts with two flat sides.
Might be a case where going oem is advantageous.

Once some hack changes that motor and cranks both screws down it might as well be a single part.

Have you seen the companion product, the supco motor shaft cleaner? For $60, I'll use sandpaper for whatever.
