    Cute. Msgs between Mars and Earth require at least 12.7 minutes if you want to be completely realistic. And the returned astronaut would immediately find himself in a deep underground facility surrounded by men in white smocks smoking cigarettes. :-)

    It's always disappointing to see a romantic angle in one of the these stories. The wife has to be hot and the kid cute and emulating his father to be the right stuff. If the wife were an ugly lab rat and the kid insolent and apathetic people couldn't care less about the giant leap for mankind or first contact. Will we ever grow up? LOL.
