    HVAC overheat or overcharged refrigerant?

Our HVAC system doesn't seem to be working properly. We had the unit serviced last year at the end of the season in September. During that service the refrigerant was charged but we maybe used the unit for 1 week after that. We had one technician who came in today and looked at the system.
He used an SMAN360 for the measurement and we have attached the picture. The unit is a 20 year old AMANA. His assessment was that the person who serviced the unit last year put too much refrigerant and the unit needs to get replaced as it was damaged due to too much =. When we read online however, for this reading with high overheat (48) it is stated that it is due to too little refrigerant so we are confused and wanted to ask the experts. . We wanted to get another opinion before we proceed with the replacement. We were told we need to replace both.

As mentioned in the other thread you posted, the temperature clamps are on the manifold. How does he know what the temperature of the the line set is?
