Doesn't the door have a door?
We just moved into a brand new 2250sf colonial in Massachusetts with a York gas forced air heating and cooling system. I'd like to install a small (about 6"x7") open cat door to our unfinished basement on the door to allow her access to her litter box without needing to leave the basement door open. My husband is concerned about the effect this hole could have on the airflow in the home. The return for the first floor is around the corner from the basement door. Is this something that we need to be concerned about, i.e. do I need a new place for the litter box (ugh)? Any advice is great appreciated!
Doesn't the door have a door?
It actually doesn't. The one I purchased off Amazon is essentially just a little frame that goes around the opening you cut at the bottom of the door. Our cat isn't the brightest bulb and often has trouble pushing through the doors or flaps.
