    Carrier vane axial service bulletin

I sat on hold forever trying to get a service bulletin from tech support. They said they would email it, nothing. I have a 48FCEA06A2A3AOAOAO. Sn 0519C85315. Main blower intermittently fails to start in heat mode.

That bulletin must be right off the press. I do not see anything on "hvacpartners" for it.

Did they send you that Bulletin in a pdf format? If so, could you email it to me (address is in my profile)?

They do have some videos on this fan on their website - Unit features, removal and reinstallation, disassembly and reassembly, setting airflow, and maintenance and service.

Question: How is this bulletin relevant to your problem of "intermittent fan starting"?

I saw this coming. I went to the local wholesaler class on that fan.
Lot's of dealers teed off about the nuisance tripping.
Do you understand what Carrier wants you to do before selling one of these units ?

The one I pictured would occasionally trip the manual limit because the delay ( I believe it's 90 sec. ) was to long.
Just last week I had to replace the inducer because the windings were smoked.

    Interesting.

I have had to replace three of these limits on units only a couple months old, haven't had any issues since limit replacement, but it's only been a month since I did them.

Could you please send me this bulletin as well

If your fan motor wont run dont trust the checkout procedure in the manual. We found that the pins in the plug at the board get bored out sometimes and you need to bend them back together to get good contact. We have contacted Carrier about this and hoping they add a few more steps to their check out procedures.

I can not recall how I came upon this bulletin. Possibly "ksefan" sent it to me last year, as I had not seen it before either, as I mentioned in post #5.

I had the limit tripping issue 2 years ago. Did the carrier update, and still had an issue. Installed a RIB relay to bring fan on immediately on a call for heat. Problem solved.
