    ...

Just checked before I saw this, due to the 2020 Fabricated Conflated Crisis Epix was free for a couple of weeks here in LA. Enjoyed series War of the Worlds but Epix is no longer free.

Have a Kindle & recently bought The Expanse last book "Tiamat's Wrath", 8th in the series, & it's gettin really good.

You guys won't know what I'm talking about unless you've read the series so I'm not doing a 'spoiler'.

Humanity has expanded to other solar systems in our galaxy & a militaristic society has been able to reverse engineer some 'proto-molecule' technology & has achieved military control over 1,300 planets. They don't fully understand 'proto-molecule' tech nor anything about the 'proto-molecule'builders much less the society that destroyed the 'proto-molecule' society.

A small of ships going through the rings are lost, never seen again. I'm at the part where they're probing, poking the society that destroyed the 'proto-molecule' society...

and it's NOT going good at all!

Get a Kindle, keep it in your truck for when you have down time. The Expanse series is like the Dune series... just gets better unlike most that fade in holding your attention.

I’ve read the first 4 or 5 books years ago and they were indeed very good. I actually saw the pilot episode before I read the books and thought it was really good, but after reading the books I couldn’t enjoy the series The characters just looked so different from how they were described in the books. But that’s a common problem for me. Movies/shows based on books are never nearly as good.

If you guys like space battles with somewhat realistic physics and tactics, the lost fleet by jack campbell might be up your alley. It even goes into the time delay of communication and seeing the results of a battle seconds or minutes after it actually happened from the delay of light speed due to distance.

It's indeed a common problem trying to squeeze so much content, imagination & character development into TV/movie time frame. This is what's so terrible about the Dune series. The books are IMO the best sci/fi ever written but the TV/movies were absolutely terrible. Same applies to the Expanse books/TV. CGI has greatly improved but the books description of the proto-molecule pales to TV's CGI.

If you guys don't read many books & you enjoy sci/fi.... I'm tellin ya... you'll enjoy the Expanse books. No rush... fill your time waiting on dispatch for your next job & open a Kindle... ya won't regret it.

Spoiler alert: Sorry... I'm mad... still wading through book 8, "Tiamat's Wrath". I'm mad cause they killed off one of my favorite characters badazz Bobbie Draper. You'll be glad to know she dies a glorious hero's death in the service of humanity.
