Question multi fuel portable generator, natural gas

I have portable 8,000 watt Honda generator GX390, bought slightly used. It runs great on gasoline. It was manufactured for 3 Multi fuel. When I hook up to natural gas with a 3/8" hose (used for LP setup), it does not start. I have 1/2" CSST natural gas main to the rubber 3/8" line. Is my 3/8" line to small? Do I need 1/2" hose? The natural gas solenoid is working, (getting 12 volts while cranking) but unit does not start. I think it must be too low flow, even with regulator at max and min setting openings.

Good morning HvacMarc, this Multi Fuel Honda was manufactured for 3 fuels; NG, LP, Gasoline. It incorporates the Demand Pressure Regulator and other needed parts shown in your link.
