What have you guys found to organize spare parts, everything from capacitors to fan motors? I've been using some plastic bins I found at I think Northern Tool, but for stuff like small parts, I wind up digging for what I need.

I have several drawer/cabinets in my van. Occasionally I use boxes from motors for parts such as contractors and capacitors.

Stanley makes some bins with a black box and clear lid that I use for all my small stuff. Sell them at Lowes for like 10 bucks a piece. They have spacers that you can pull out that make them nice. I have one for copper fittings, pvc fittings, caps, and two with other various small parts. The yellow handle makes it nice you can write what's in each. I'll try and post a pic when I get off.

I used shelving and the most popular parts were located so I could reach in and not climb in. Also I put two single style filing cabinets facing the rear doors for fittings. I was able to line my boxes of filters on top of the filing cabinets. Granted it blocked the rear doors. I used the side door for entry.

JHB is right. I have 17 of these on my truck. Gas pipe 1/2", 3/4", 1" plus, PVC fittings, screws, anchors, plumbing 1/2 & 3/4 fittings, reefer fittings and locking caps, anchors, nuts washers side beam hangers ceiling plates, fuses time delays relays, small caps, large caps, i think you get the idea. I take the little yellow boxes out for the fuse and cap ones. I buy 10 packs of fuses and label the side with a black marker, so I can see which is which. The caps I leave in the boxes too. I made the mistake of taking the caps out at first, but the numbers rub and then I am not sure what they are for stocking purpose, it's just more frustrating. I set my shelves so they fit perfect without losing to much height. I get 3 in a row, but somehow get four in my back shelves, I really shove those in. I do break them once in a while, but they are so worth the 18 bucks, and it is unbelievable how much abuse they take before they are broken. Get the ones that are on the bottom of his picture, with the yellow locking hinges

Hello everbody. My first time posting here (been an lurker for awhile), and I wanted to thanks you all for the wealth of informations you have been sharing on this HVAC forum. The Stanley organizer that Cbssteve saying to get (just google it) Stanley 14710R. All the stores in my area just does not stock them and the newer design one break too easily in colder weather, so I contacted the company and they gave me the model number that is showing the one in on the bottom of JHB's picture.

Has anybody else noticed how flimsy Adrian Steel shelving is now? I used to ratchet strap cylinders, both nitrogen & oxygen, to the end cap - now the metaljust bends. I used to carry a chain fall on the shelf - now the shelf just caves in.
