Sure they are; they are called "service replacements"

You won't find a condensing unit designed to work with R22, though. You'll have to settle for 407c.

I would've gone a slightly different direction. But the powers to be made the decisions that they did. Little teeny tiny scroll. Even comes with accumulator attached. The thing is like ~4" diameter by ~11" tall.

Guess they want tens of thousands for a replacement chiller. And the mill is down right now, meaning, no income from that unit. I recommended twice the normal labor due to the unknowns. Which is still downright dirt cheap compared to what the manufacturer wants for a new chiller.

I think those little guys with the built-on accumulators are Rotary and not Scroll. I like them but they do make more of a different kind of noise when they run. I have had a little one grafted into my first floor condensing unit in NJ for the last few years. My scrap guy got it for me - it came out of a window box.

Huh, interesting. Too noisy in that machine shop to hear any subtleties. Not really part of the equation, but still interesting just the same.

Aren't there any translation apps that could allow you to read the data tag. Not trying to be a rookie dick here; but I'd think the smartest rookie dick in the room might, possibly, maybe, be able to get the tag translated on the interwebs, or the local lunch joint.....

Also, if you're gonna report someone for name calling, I think you're gonna have to report about 20 of us in this thread! LOL!!

    Dick.....

When I was a kid, one of the local gas line service guys' name was Dick Ball.

That was real......of course I never cared until I was in my later teen years.

    How about Dick Trickle?

Seems at some point you'd want to clock your parents.

Or maybe it would be like: A Boy Named Sue

His father thought he might not be around to take care of him so he gave his son the name Sue - with idea that he'd have to have to grow up pretty tough. <g>

I remember hearing that as a kid and loving it. Of course, God had not invented YouTube yet, so didn't get to hear it often. So when I did, it was real special.

Interesting how he chokes up on the guitar when he's picking. Wonder how that changes the tone, if any. Never got into the music arena. Always a beer drinkin', construction worker, who enjoyed dirt bikes and four wheel drives in my off hours.
