Not sure this is all that clear. Why do my tools only need one port to listen to both uni & broadcast. Yabe either...

I think lin's link explains this pretty well but yes sockets, you need different ports for different services but you can do send or receive on a single ip and port.

Whoops, forgot to reply to this, I do not have access to the router or the lan network right now, but will do on Friday. It's great that you guys are on active on this forum, it would be a great help if you could also be this active on Friday when I'm actually going through the process to fix the issue.

That's what I thought. One socket should handle both.

Hi I was referring to this chinese manuf, just as a test tool. Babel Buster seems pretty competitive. I`m partial to Intesisbox because I have amazing support resources with them., but not cheap.

If you try it, report back.

I have little doubt that Lin hasn't put the same effort in that product as this one.

If you have problems, either PM him here or start a new thread on that product and I'm sure it will draw him in at some point. If that doesn't work, PM me.

For an off shore guy, he is very active in BMS circles compared to any other off shore OEM I have seen. Not what you would typically expect with such equipment.

We analyse CCN protocol based on snffing and testing. But there is only special models of chiller on the Chinese market, like 19XR, 30HXC/XW/XQ/RB/RQ .
Most models provided by oversea customers had never been seen here. It save a lot on customer support, but we have less opportunity to improve compatibility.
We don't recommend to install our CCN Gateway in a CCN bus that had considerable communication between devices.
For new model that we had no experience, it's better to order only 1 unit to test.

    Makes sense.

So in a nutshell sounds like he is reverse engineering the protocol based on what's available locally. Fair enough, wouldn't expect carrier to work with him. Very different markets, units prob vary widely between.

If your unit isn't on his list, ship your chiller there and he might work on it lol. For the cost and given what you know now, it still might be worth a shot in the dark.

    Can't knock the support.

However, the CCN Gateway has a debug function. basically it will try to read out all table content from the chiller and save them to a file.
Sending back this file will help us to upgrade the firmware to support in-compatible model. The upgrade may take from a couple of days to a week.

I remember someone had asked for Modbus/BACnet gateway.
The new firmware has builtin Modbus gateway.
If you are interested in it. I will appreciate your opinion of that feature.
