hello, does anybody know what type of oil is suitable for the transmission and planetary of an old H600T mixer? would regular 75w90 gear oil be ok?
thanks

I've read about lubricants only enough to know that I don't know enough about lubricants. I suggest calling Hobart and ordering what's called for. They'll know.

If you want more detailed info on servicing that mixer, look in my profile for my email and shoot me an email so I'll have yours. I'll send you a manual.

Yes the planetary oil will slowly drip into the drip cup . If you take off the 3 screws securing the guard you will see where the oil accumulates , if you see none chances are that your oil is very low or empty,
To change it you , undo the 3/4 head bolt under planetary to drain , and to fill you undo the allen key screw on the side . The part number I provided in previous post will come in a small tube which is the correct amount and you can squeeze it in with it.
This is more important than the sight glass for transmission , I recommend doing it once a year .
