Think what you will, but Muhammad Ali was a fixture throughout my life. I certainly did not 'fixate' on him, and to be honest have never really been a big boxing fan. Ali was however, one of those 'bigger than life' characters that you just assumed will always be around. Even as his body succumbed to the effects of the Parkinson's disease from which he suffered, he continued to be a man among men. Very colorful, very much always playing to the crowds, he will certainly be remembered. Ali was memorialized today in his hometown of Louisville, Kentucky. Yes, a lot of hoopla surrounding his passing, but understandably he left his mark on thousands with whom he came in contact with.

RIP

All the best, Irish
