That is "Old School" method of A/C charging. Just charge until you geat a "Sweat Back" on the suction line.

For Refrigeration, either way is incorrect. "Superheat and Subcooling" is the only proper way. Also HVAC-Talk

Wow what a small world it is sometimes.You were one of my instructors at Ft. Belvoir.October 1990-February 1991 if i remember correctly.It was a long time ago.I do remember your name.
