Lennox heat pump blower keeps running

    Greetings,

I have been in my house for about 10 years and have alway had this problem in winter or summer. The blower fan keeps running for long periods of time after the HP has stopped running. The time seems to vary, it may be as short as 15 minutes of run time, other times maybe an hour and sometimes I'll get frustrated and cycle the circuit breaker on the blower plenum.

    Here is the info:
    Lennox Heat Pump model: HP29-261-2P
    Lennox Blower model: B242Q-4P

I once had a local HVAC guy look at it, but he just shrugged his shoulders.

Is there a setting or something I can change? It's really annoying and I'm sure it eats up electricity.

    Thanks!

    Sam

Please call a different local HVAC guy, you should be able to find someone to help you.

Althoough any company should be able to fix it for you.
You may be better off with a Lennox dealer.

I always do it myself. I am an engineer (I know, shudder), liscensed aircraft mechanic and shade tree auto mech.

Looking over the threads, it looks like I need a modern thermostat. I was looking at the RiteTemp 8050c.

I make no claim to being good at spelling.

    LOL...
Lots and lots of thermostats get replaced, when they aren't even the cause of the problem.

I fully support the military and the War on Terrorism.

If you don't know, then don't do. If you don't know and still do, then be prepared to pay someone else a lot to undo what you did and then do it right.

If you do know, then do. But do it right. Otherwise, you may not be doing it long.
