What Song Popped into Your Head Today?

Since I was in high school in the early 70's, it was this one:

No one is useless in this world who lightens the burdens of another. -- Charles Dickens

    It wasn't a song, it was a jingle. " for taste and more it's On-Cor "

    Captain Walker didn't come home
His unborn child will never know him
Believe him missing with a number of men
Don't expect to see him again...

My niece is visiting and ,while talking to my wife, she mentioned her science teacher - Mr. Walker. That's all it took to reach into my mental file cabinet for this one. Very strange.
If the women don't find you handsome, they should at least find you handy.

Interesting. When I was in high school in the mid 70's, I went to the drive in with 3 or 4 other kids to see the movie "Tommy". Since I was kind of a mental case back then, I thought it was a great movie. I know I drove my 1964 Olds F-85 to the drive-in in Cincinnati.

I think my oldest son may have bought that car as his first classic. Loved the drive in theaters. Worked as a projectionist before getting into hvac and worked in a bunch of them. Ran the last show at the Bay Shore Drive In.

That is a pretty song, and I've certainly heard it before. I sometimes wish I understood more Spanish.

I always thought they were talking about Copacabana Beach in Rio De Janero, Brazil, but I don't know for sure. Saw a special on him a few years ago on TV. He would play at Las Vegas and then fly home on a private jet to California. He did this back and forth each day. He said he couldn't sleep in Las Vegas. I remember him also saying, "I'm good, but I'm not great." "Sinatra is great". Hope your wife liked the concert.

I had this song stuck in my head for a few days. Well, sort of. Meaning, I didn't even know what the freakin' words were. But the tune and beat were stuck there.

So I had to find out what the heck it was. I gotta admit, the visual in my minds eye was better than the original artist. But at least I was able to figure out what the words were.
